Seminar: 'Real-Time Scheduling with RBED in the L4 Microkernel'

Suresh Iyer and Jaeheon Yi will give a talk entitled Real-Time Scheduling with RBED in the L4 Microkernel.

Abstract:

L4 and L4-embedded are second generation microkernels that are widely deployed in both research and commercial systems. RBED (Rate-Based Earliest Deadline) is an integrated multi-class real-time scheduler that supports processes with a variety of timeliness constraints. In this talk we present the implementation of the RBED scheduler in the L4 and L4-embedded microkernels. We show that implementing RBED in L4 and L4-embedded enables support for applications with different real-time requirements in a unified way.
