Devashish (Dev) Purandare

Devashish is a PhD student in the Computer Science department at University of California Santa Cruz. He joined the SSRC in Spring 2017. His research interests lie in storage systems, operating systems and distributed systems, and programming languages.

His current project is trace analysis of large scale file systems to analyze trends and improve performance. He is currently working on the CERN EOS file system traces. Besides trace analysis, he is working on a better ways to work with low cost low reliability QLC flash. This includes study of reliability, usage cases, and better methods for reducing reads/writes, better error detection and correction.
