RadhaKrishna Vuppala will give a talk entitled Query Routing Techniques in Energy Efficient Disk-based Archival Systems.

This work explores efficient techniques to route data queries in a disk based archival environment that has 95% of disks kept inactive to save power consumption. The archival system is composed of multiple self contained units. Using traditional data indexing techniques may consume too much power in such an environment. The work is in initial stages and the talk will provide an overview of the problem.
