Fived (D.J. Capelis)

D.J. will introduce the fived project. The fived project is an experimental daemon being used to play with concepts related to a session layer. It establishes a flexible idea of a session based on the 20-year old tcpmux protocol and extends the specification a bit to add a truckload of features. D.J. will be showing off some of the ways fived can change the world, lead towards a new network infrastructure and solve a series of interesting and pressing issues with the Internet. In the final moments of the talk, transition mechanisms will be discussed to try and explain on why this might even be possible and how a system like this could feasible make the leap from research to practice.
